Virtual Urgent Care

Emergency Care
Emergency Care Description

NYU Langone provides same-day treatment for many non-emergency conditions through a Virtual Urgent Care video visit. Adults and children age 5 and older accompanied by a guardian can have a video visit with an NYU Langone care provider from the comfort of their home, at work, or on the go.

“Virtual Urgent Care provides the comfort of having a doctor within your own home. Not having to leave the house makes a huge difference.”

Michelle, Age 33

Virtual Urgent Care is a convenient option that is open from early morning until midnight, 365 days of the year. Accessing care is easy: using your mobile device, you have a face-to-face visit with an NYU Langone provider who listens to your concerns and determines a diagnosis, treatment plan, and follow-up instructions.

Virtual Urgent Care Services

Virtual Urgent Care providers are board-certified medical experts. These are some of the services they provide:

  • treatment for a variety of common medical concerns, such as flu or COVID-19 symptoms, pink eye, cough, sore throat, rash, vomiting, and diarrhea
  • an after-visit summary with a care plan and any follow-up instructions, including referrals or diagnostic testing orders for blood work, swabs, or imaging as needed
  • prescriptions sent directly to the pharmacy of your choice
  • a summary of your visit and results, all in one place on the NYU Langone Health App
  • ability to message our providers with any questions or concerns after your visit
  • interpretation assistance in more than 200 languages for non-English speakers

Our providers are licensed to practice medicine in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Florida. You must be physically located within one of these states at the time of treatment.

Virtual Urgent Care for Children

For a child under 12 years old, the parent or legal guardian must schedule the visit on behalf of the child. Patients ages 13 to 17 may schedule directly. For most visits, our providers can only treat your child if the parent or legal guardian is present during the visit.
