Experts at NYU Langone’s Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease offer a variety of techniques, including yoga, massage therapy, and acupuncture, to help reduce stress. Specialists at NYU Langone’s Joan and Joel Smilow Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Center help you develop a plan for maintaining your heart health, including exercise and stress management.

Nutrition Guidance

Lifestyle changes can help to prevent or manage arrhythmias. Registered dietitians offer a nutritional evaluation and help you make healthful dietary choices. They also help you better understand the impact of diet on conditions that affect the heart. These include diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and heart disease.

Occupational Therapy and Cognitive Therapy

Sometimes, a cardiac event, including stroke, can cause cognitive problems, such as memory loss. These problems can affect your ability to work or perform daily activities. Cognitive and occupational therapists at Rusk Rehabilitation can help you to improve your ability to function, so you can better adapt to any challenges you may be experiencing.
