Our Approach to Treating

Bradycardia

At NYU Langone, our cardiovascular specialists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of bradycardia, a condition that causes the heart to beat too slowly.

NYU Langone’s internationally recognized Heart Rhythm Center is at the forefront of minimally invasive techniques and advances in cardiac devices to restore normal heart rate. Our team was the first in the United States to implant the Micra™, one of a new generation of small, leadless pacemakers that is placed using nonsurgical techniques.

Our heart rhythm specialists work with experts at our Heart Failure Advanced Care Center to treat people with arrhythmia that has led to heart failure, in which the heart doesn’t pump enough blood to the rest of the body.

Treatment for Bradycardia

Treatment for bradycardia may include lifestyle changes—such as adjusting medications, quitting smoking, and exercising—and a pacemaker to regulate heart rate.
