As chief of service for the Ronald O. Perelman Center for Emergency Services at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, I am dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care for patients of all ages and medical complexities. My passion for emergency medicine is rooted in a desire to be part of a team that provides the highest level of care, ensuring that every patient receives the same quality of treatment I would expect for my own family.

My journey into emergency medicine began at a young age, inspired by my own experiences as a critically ill child in the intensive care unit. Later, in high school, I attended community college at night to become an EMT. These early exposures fostered a comfort and curiosity with healthcare, leading me to pursue a career where I could make a significant impact on patients’ lives.

During my tenure at NYU Langone, I have developed and implemented initiatives to improve sepsis care, geriatric trauma care, stroke processes, and patient care space design. My commitment to improving the health of the communities I serve is evident in my work, such as the diabetes screening initiative that has become a standard practice in all NYU Langone emergency departments, which aids in diagnosing thousands of patients with diabetes and prediabetes and connecting them to outpatient care.

Throughout my career I have focused on leadership and mentorship, guiding providers at all levels from emergency medical services (EMS) to emerging faculty leaders. My role as an educator was recognized with the 2021 Educator of the Year award by the NYU Langone’s Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. Additionally, as the EMS medical director for our health system, I have partnered with our EMS operations team to create a quality improvement program as well as an emergency medical technician school and establish an EMS rotation for our medical students. I am the recipient of the New York City EMS Physician of Excellence award in 2023.
