About Me
As an inpatient psychiatrist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to delivering compassionate and comprehensive psychiatric care to those who need it most. My journey into medicine was unconventional; after completing engineering school and working as a high school teacher, I rediscovered my passion for caring for individuals. Psychiatry, with its focus on human behavior and the psyche, became the perfect specialty for me.
I specialize in treating common mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and personality disorders. With extensive experience in these areas, I am committed to providing care that addresses both the psychological and physiological aspects of mental health. As the medical director for the inpatient unit, I have the privilege of working alongside a talented team of nurses, social workers, and therapists who share my commitment to treating mental illness. My role allows me to ensure that our patients receive coordinated, seamless care, leveraging the full resources of NYU Langone.
Throughout my career, I have focused on proactive healthcare engagement. I believe in fostering strong partnerships with my patients, ensuring that they feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their treatment journey. Additionally, I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of physicians, working closely with resident psychiatrists and rotating medical students to help them grow in their confidence and capacity to deliver effective medical care.
My educational background includes a degree in civil & structural engineering and subsequent medical training, which has provided me with a unique perspective on problem-solving and patient care. My inspiration for pursuing a career in psychiatry stemmed from my desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues. At NYU Langone, I am proud to be part of a dedicated team focused on improving mental health outcomes for our patients.
