About Me
As a pediatric otolaryngologist, I specialize in medical and surgical treatments for children with a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions. These include face, neck, and thyroid masses; soft palate disorders, which can affect a child’s speech; and breathing problems.
My passion for managing ear, nose, and throat conditions stems in part from my lifelong interest in music and language. I play the violin and speak French fluently, as well as Spanish and some Hindi, Urdu, and Tagalog.
I have a special interest in treating head and neck tumors, complex airway disorders, and facial trauma. In addition, I perform ear reconstruction in infants and children and craniofacial surgery to treat conditions such as cleft lip and cleft palate.
I am dedicated to creating personalized, evidence-based treatment plans for my patients. I believe in a team-based approach to care to deliver the best possible outcomes. This involves spending time with families to ensure they fully understand their child’s symptoms and actively participate in treatment decisions.
I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, which may include pediatric pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, speech–language pathologists, pediatric dentists, and genetic counselors. For example, if a child has a condition that causes trouble speaking, I work with speech–language pathologists to evaluate the child.
I am committed to providing my patients with the best treatments available. I am a member of several national and international associations and committees focused on education, research, and mentorship in pediatric otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.
My research focuses on health disparities. For instance, I am examining patients’ nutritional status and outcomes based on their income and zip code. I am also investigating how scientific evidence is used to guide treatment and whether initiatives to improve the quality of care are successful.
I also work to create educational collaborations with pediatric otolaryngologists in other countries to elevate the quality of care around the world.

Research My Research
Research Summary
I have a particular interest in health disparities that children and their families experience within our health care system. I believe it is important to examine health outcomes in relation to social and demographic factors, as the conditions and locations in which patients live shape their basic access to healthcare.
I have studied these topics domestically and have a long-standing interest in global health. I have participated in numerous mission trips outside the United States and have partnered with global health colleagues to study and improve healthcare in underserved communities abroad.
