About Me
As a neurologist at NYU Langone, I am committed to providing expert and individualized care to my patients. I was born and raised in Barcelona, and my parents’ values of service and joy in caring for others have greatly influenced my approach to medicine. I am passionate about studying the human brain and working with patients with neurological diseases. This passion led me to the United States and ultimately to NYU Langone.
My specialty lies in the care of patients with disorders that affect movement. These include ataxia and other diseases of the cerebellum, Parkinson’s disease, atypical causes of parkinsonism, tremors, chorea, myoclonus, tics, dystonia, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, tardive dyskinesia, spasticity and other disorders that affect gait and balance. I also perform Botox injections for movement disorders and program deep brain stimulation (DBS) when necessary. My proactive approach to healthcare ensures that my patients receive the best possible care tailored to their unique needs.
Throughout my career, I have focused on the study of human brain anatomy, publishing over 30 original articles that continue to influence the field of cerebellar neuroscience today. My research has been recognized with numerous awards, reflecting my commitment to advancing our understanding of neurological diseases and improving patient care.
My medical journey began at Pompeu Fabra University in my hometown, where I graduated in the top 5 percent of my class. I then moved to the United States on a research scholarship from the La Caixa Foundation, joining the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2016. I later joined the neurology residency program at Harvard Medical School in 2019, where I developed a strong foundation in clinical neurology. In 2024, I became the associate director of the NYU Langone Movement Disorders Fellowship Program. At NYU Langone, I have developed a new curriculum of neuroanatomy for movement disorders and am deeply involved in the neuroanatomy and neurology course for medical students.

Research Summary
My research focus is on systems neuroscience of the cerebellum. My academic work described a triple representation of nonmotor function in the human cerebellum using functional MRI analyses, unmasked the functional gradients that define its macroscale organization, and used these novel neuroanatomy principles to better understand cerebellar abnormalities in multiple patient populations. In the domain of behavioral analyses, my research described new patterns of language, social cognition, and other cognitive abnormalities in patients with cerebellar injury. Following postdoctoral research training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Neurology residency training at Harvard Medical School, and Movement Disorders Fellowship at NYU, my academic goal is to connect cerebellar neuroscience to patient care in Neurology and Movement Disorders.
