Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad, MD

At NYU Langone, our focus is on providing compassionate and personalized care for men’s urologic health needs. As a dual fellowship–trained urologist specializing in male infertility and sexual dysfunction, I am dedicated to improving the lives of my patients in a deeply personal way.

Many of the men I treat deal with issues such as erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease, which can cause significant physical and emotional pain. I have been honored to work with the American Urological Association to develop evidence-based guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, and I am committed to staying at the forefront of research and treatment options for my patients.

As a surgeon, I continuously strive to improve my knowledge. I am honored to have been among a small group of urologists chosen to write questions for the American Board of Urology’s written examination. I also feel incredibly privileged to have trained with outstanding surgeons and mentors who helped me develop and refine my surgical skills over the years.

In opposite-sex couples, nearly half the cases of infertility are somehow related to problems of the male partner. When couples experience infertility, I collaborate closely with my colleagues in reproductive endocrinology to optimize care for the male partner. In addition to treating issues related to infertility and erectile dysfunction, I also work with men who have testosterone deficiency or experience urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate.

I perform a wide range of procedures, including surgery to address fertility issues, improve sexual function, and promote prostate health. When I was in medical school, my father, who was a general surgeon, told me to always remember to treat all patients as if they were a close relative. I have honored and followed his advice, taking time to explain various health issues to my patients and dispel any misconceptions.

I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to pursue my passion for medicine and the calling to become a surgeon. My patients can count on me to be accessible and devoted to their care, no matter what challenges they may face.
