About Me
As a neonatologist, I am dedicated to caring for critically ill infants and supporting their families during some of the most challenging moments in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Throughout my career, I have been passionate about guiding families through these difficult times and feel privileged to provide care to the most vulnerable patients. I am honored by the trust families place in me as I become an integral part of their journey.
In my role as a clinical leader, I oversee and shape the care provided in the NICU, helping to establish a vision of quality care that drives excellence for our patients. By collaborating with a team of skilled providers, we achieve optimal health outcomes, ensuring that each patient reaches their fullest potential. My experience at NYU Langone and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue has given me extensive exposure to complex healthcare challenges and a deep understanding of managing critical conditions. I am especially committed to addressing the needs of underserved and vulnerable populations. My career within the NYC Health + Hospitals system has focused on improving health outcomes for diverse NICU patients, with a strong emphasis on solutions that address the full range of health determinants.
As a researcher, I have studied numerous acute and chronic conditions affecting the NICU population, including respiratory disorders, biomarkers of brain injury, physician biases in periviability counseling, and outcomes related to COVID-19. Much of my research has centered on hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), exploring its risk factors and neurodevelopmental outcomes. I have had the privilege of sharing our findings as a grand rounds speaker, highlighting the complexity of NICU care and the many prenatal and neonatal factors that can impact fetal and neonatal wellbeing.
