During medical school, I gravitated toward orthopedic surgery as my specialty. It combined my interest in body mechanics—the way people move—with the goal of restoring quality of life. I wanted to help people return to their daily activities, hobbies, and sports.

At NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, most of the patients I see have joint damage because of osteoarthritis of the knee or the hip. I routinely perform hip and knee replacement procedures, including partial and total hip and knee replacement as well as revision hip and knee replacement.

I specialize in direct anterior approach hip replacement, a minimally invasive procedure. I also use computer-navigation and robotic technology to perform surgery, which results in the highly accurate placement of joint implant components.

I believe in a personalized approach to patient care. I consider a person’s pain, functional limitations, and activity level expectations and then create a tailored treatment plan. Treatment can involve surgery or nonsurgical approaches, such as physical therapy, therapeutic injections, and orthotics.

Preparing and optimizing people for surgery is central to the care I provide. This may involve a referral to preoperative physical therapy to strengthen the muscles surrounding an injured joint. I also ensure that underlying health conditions, such as diabetes, are controlled to attain the best-possible surgical outcomes.

I strive for a lasting relationship with my patients through ongoing follow-up care and place utmost value on the trust my patients have in me.

I am a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, an organization that keeps me abreast of the latest research in surgical techniques.
