About Me
As a clinical psychologist at NYU Langone, I am committed to fostering resilience and promoting mental wellbeing. My interest in human resilience and adaptation led me to this field, and I am driven by a deep empathy for the challenges my patients face. I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic connection, and I strive to establish this from our very first session.
My expertise lies in working with adults dealing with depression, anxiety, identity issues, self-esteem, and relationship problems. My extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions allows me to draw from multiple approaches to provide a more comprehensive understanding of each individual. I have also conducted significant research on the formation of the therapeutic connection and its relationship to patient personality, further enhancing my ability to connect with and support my patients.
Throughout my career, I have emphasized proactive engagement in healthcare, tailoring my treatment approach to each patient’s unique needs. I see therapeutic work as a partnership, where tasks and goals are co-created and mutually strived for. This approach allows us to explore and express troubling emotions, discover new ways of understanding ourselves, work on problematic relational patterns, and decide what aspects of experience are most worthy of our attention.
My journey into psychology began in college, where I was captivated by theories explaining human resilience and adaptation. This interest, coupled with a desire to help others, led me to pursue a career in clinical psychology. As part of the NYU Langone team, I collaborate with other healthcare professionals, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care for my patients. I also lead a mindfulness-based psychotherapy group for patients experiencing depression or anxiety designed to cultivate present-moment awareness, train attention, and support skillful responses to difficult emotions and experiences. I am deeply committed to my patients, beyond the conditions they are facing.
