About Me

I have always been passionate about science and sports. At a young age, I became interested in human anatomy and developed a love of basketball and football. So I decided to combine my interests and become a doctor specializing in sports medicine and physiatry.

At NYU Langone Orthopedic Center and the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Men’s Health, I manage all types of musculoskeletal pain nonoperatively. As a former team doctor for St. Joseph’s College, I am experienced in caring for people with sports-related injuries. I prescribe medications and physical therapy, and I perform therapeutic injections. I am also licensed to practice acupuncture, using a combination of Eastern and Western styles to manage musculoskeletal pain.

Being certified in musculoskeletal sonography allows me to use ultrasound imaging in my office to help diagnose conditions and guide injections. I can provide a variety of injections, including steroid and hyaluronic acid. I also use regenerative medicine techniques to promote healing. These include platelet-rich plasma injections and percutaneous tenotomy. I am trained in interventional spine procedures and offer X-ray–guided injections for the lower back. These include epidural injections and those that target the facet and sacroiliac joints.

I work with patients to come up with a personalized treatment plan. I help them to understand their medical condition, give them treatment options, and ask about their preferences. Recovering from musculoskeletal injuries can be a process, so I believe it is essential to take the time to explain treatment options and the reason I recommend a particular approach. It is very rewarding to see patients who have experienced debilitating pain return to their favorite activities.

During my residency at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, I was a three-time recipient of the Howard Rusk Award for Academic Excellence and Teaching. As a clinical assistant professor of rehabilitation medicine, I teach and advise trainees. Outside of medicine, I enjoy exploring new restaurants with my wife, weightlifting, basketball, and running, as well as watching NBA and NFL games.
