Rusk Rehabilitation Brooklyn at Sunset Park Family Health Center provides care for adults and children, people recovering from heart attack and other cardiac events, and specialized rehabilitation care for women.

We provide outpatient rehabilitation care to adults and children who are learning to use a prosthetic or orthotic device. This includes people learning to use artificial limbs. We work with adults and children who require bracing to treat foot deformities and gait disturbances such as drop foot. Therapy for generalized muscle weakness is also provided. Our seating and wheelchair clinic evaluates adults and children to ensure they are using the right device for their individual needs.

Sunset Park Family Health Center provides the following specialized rehabilitation programs.
Our 12-week outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program helps people recovering from heart attack, heart surgery, or another cardiac event.
During the program, you’ll perform three hours of physician-monitored aerobic exercise per week. We educate you on ways to improve your heart health, including improving your diet and making better food choices. If you have diabetes, our nurse educator helps you learn how to monitor your blood sugar and stay healthy. We also help you stop smoking and teach you ways to manage stress and limit other heart disease risk factors.
At the end of the program, we provide you with recommendations for ways you can make regular exercise and healthy eating a part of your everyday life.
We provide speech–language pathology services for children with autism, developmental delays, articulation and phonological disorders, and receptive-expressive language disorders. We also have a therapeutic program for premature infants who need help with feeding and swallowing.
We provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech–language pathology to children with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy and spina bifida. We also provide rehabilitation for children recovering from orthopedic injuries such as bone fracture.
For women, our physical therapists provide interventions that help with recovery after breast cancer, surgery, and childbirth. We also provide bladder control therapy to treat incontinence and therapy to treat pelvic floor dysfunction.

Outpatient adult rehabilitation care, including cardiac rehabilitation, takes place at Sunset Park Family Health Center located at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, 150 55th Street. Rehabilitation care for women and children takes place at the Sunset Park Family Health Center at 5610 Second Avenue.
