Failed Back Surgery Syndrome
Doctors at NYU Langone’s Spine Center, part of NYU Langone Orthopedic Center, are experts in diagnosing failed back surgery syndrome, in which chronic pain starts or persists after back surgery. Such prior surgeries may include fusion or removal of discs, decompression to relieve pressure on nerves or the spinal cord, or a removal of bone spurs or a piece of bone. Our doctors can also determine if spinal problems are not caused by prior back surgery.
Our pain management and rehabilitation experts work closely with orthopedists to manage the chronic pain associated with failed back surgery syndrome. Experts at NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation can help you reduce pain, improve mobility, and recuperate from procedures to correct the condition.
