Our Approach to Treating

Supraventricular Arrhythmias

At NYU Langone, our cardiovascular specialists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of supraventricular arrhythmias. These heart rhythm disorders originate in the heart’s upper chambers, called the atria. There are many different types of supraventricular arrhythmias, the most common of which is atrial fibrillation (AFib). Other forms of supraventricular arrhythmias include atrial flutter, atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia, ectopic atrial tachycardia, and accessory pathway syndrome.

At NYU Langone’s Heart Rhythm Center, our team of cardiac electrophysiologists, cardiologists, echocardiologists, radiologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and specialized nurses provides treatment and innovative procedures for more than 4,500 people with arrhythmias each year.

Treatment for Supraventricular Arrhythmias

To manage supraventricular arrhythmias, our heart specialists may recommend lifestyle changes, medication, or catheter ablation. Our doctors provide the treatment you need to regulate your heart rhythm while also collaborating closely with your primary cardiologist, who continues to monitor your care.
