Whether you’ve had a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) or a repeat cesarean delivery, your NYU Langone obstetrician can counsel you about future delivery options. The doctor can explain if you might be a good candidate for VBAC in the future and what you can do to increase the odds of having a successful vaginal delivery. This may include waiting at least 18 months before becoming pregnant again.

Our doctors, nurses, and childbirth educators ensure that you’re supported during pregnancy and delivery as well as in the months afterward.
NYU Langone childbirth educators offer classes for pregnant women and their partners. At our support program for new and expecting parents, our experts teach Lamaze breathing techniques for those planning a vaginal delivery. They also provide information about what to expect during a cesarean delivery.
New mothers can join a weekly group to discuss infant care, breastfeeding, getting around New York City with a newborn, and more.
For women who experience mood changes during or after their pregnancies, experts at NYU Langone’s Reproductive Psychiatry Program can evaluate symptoms and offer ongoing support. Services include counseling, diagnosis, and medical treatment for any pregnancy-related or postpartum psychiatric conditions.
