Before I became a doctor, I was a patient. Having spent time in the medical system as a teenager, I learned how important communication is between a patient and practitioner to achieve a common goal.

In my clinical practice, I use effective communication and connect with patients to meet their needs. My treatment philosophy is centered on personalized care. Every treatment plan should reflect that a person is unique, with individual goals.

I chose to become an optometrist because eyes are fascinating. I could not decide which part of the eye to specialize in, so I became a primary care eye doctor.

I treat people who have conditions such as glaucoma, uveitis, dry eye syndrome, eye infections, and ocular trauma. Along with a team of specialists, I manage cataracts, hypertensive and diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration, among other conditions. In addition, I perform comprehensive and diabetic eye exams.

As an optometrist, I love prescribing glasses and contacts. It is rewarding to make an immediate and positive impact on someone’s life, and it reminds me of why I am passionate about my career.

I practice with a humanistic approach to care, meaning I value compassion and respect. I take the time to discuss treatment options with my patients and refer them to specialists when indicated. NYU Langone does a terrific job of ensuring that patients can easily and efficiently communicate with all members of their care team.

My mission is to get to know patients and their families and to work with them to take care of their eye and vision needs.
