About Me
As a psychiatrist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to my patients. My deep passion for understanding human behavior and helping address illness that impact both mental and physical well-being drove me to pursue sub-specialty training in consultation-liaison psychiatry and women’s mental health. By optimizing patients’ mental health, I can improve their quality of life and health holistically.
I specialize in treating a range of conditions, with a particular focus on mental health care for perinatal women and hormone-related psychiatric issues. Additionally, I provide psychiatric support for patients receiving medical treatments such as organ transplants or cancer therapies. My approach to care is rooted in treatments that are tailored to each patient’s unique needs, including psychotherapy and medication management. My credentials include board certification in psychiatry and fellowships in consultation–liaison psychiatry and women’s mental health, underscoring my expertise in these areas.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to proactive healthcare engagement and fostering strong partnerships with my patients. My team and I at NYU Langone offer an integrated approach to care, collaborating with specialists across the health system to ensure well-rounded support. We also provide innovative telepsychiatry services, which have proven particularly effective for patients during the perinatal period, allowing them to access care more conveniently and consistently.
My journey into medicine was inspired by a desire to support individuals through critical life stages and complex health challenges. My research has focused on the psychological impact of genetic testing for breast cancer and the benefits of telepsychiatry during the perinatal period. As director of ambulatory consultation–liaison psychiatry, I am also vested in quality improvement projects that optimize care delivery, benefiting programs such as the perinatal collaborative care program, the Perlmutter Cancer Center, and the Transplant Institute.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I led NYU Langone’s inpatient consultation–liaison psychiatry team, supporting both patients and frontline healthcare workers. For these efforts, I was honored as an Empire Whole Health Hero in 2021, reflecting my unwavering commitment to patient care during one of the most challenging times in healthcare.
