Integrative Medicine Services for Children

Many adults use yoga and meditation to relax and find balance. Research shows that what works for us works for our children, too.

Our integrative medicine services are provided by Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care, which advances the health and wellbeing of children and families.

The Importance of Integrative Medicine

When a child is in the hospital or being treated for an illness, it’s common to feel stressed and anxious, and to have difficulty sleeping. This is true for children and parents alike.

For information on integrative medicine services that are available to your child and family, talk with your child’s nurse or doctor.

Stress, anxiety, and other factors can interfere with a child’s healing process or how the body responds to treatment. For parents, these factors can make it difficult to cope with a child’s diagnosis or to make decisions about your child’s care.

By offering these integrative medicine services at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, we aim to make a stressful time more manageable for every child and family.
