Electrophysiologists at NYU Langone’s Heart Rhythm Center—Long Island are leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation (AFib) and atrial flutter, bradycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, and supraventricular arrhythmias, which cause the heart to beat too fast, too slow, or in an irregular pattern.

Advanced Heart Rhythm Care

NYU Langone’s Heart Rhythm Center team provides the most advanced arrhythmia treatment at our locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island.

Learn More about the Heart Rhythm Center

We are leaders in AFib treatment, performing more than 800 catheter ablations each year. This nonsurgical technique stops electrical signals that are causing irregular heart patterns in people with AFib, atrial flutter, and other arrhythmias, and is the gold standard for AFib care.

As part of NYU Langone’s Heart Rhythm Center, our board-certified electrophysiologists are also leaders in the use of cardiac devices such as pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators to treat heart rhythm disorders. We successfully implanted the first Micra™ AV, a leadless pacemaker that is placed inside the heart in a nonsurgical procedure.

For people with AFib who are at increased risk of blood clots and stroke, we offer left atrial appendage occlusion device treatment. We have placed more than 200 Watchman™ left atrial appendage occlusion devices, and were selected as a clinical trial site to assess the success of Amplatzer™ Amulet™, the latest in this device technology.

Procedures are performed at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, where we have three technologically advanced laboratories dedicated to restoring normal heart rhythm for our patients.

We also provide remote monitoring of implantable devices, such as cardiac loop recorders, implantable cardiac defibrillators, and pacemakers, and contact you if we are alerted of any issues with your device.
