Meet the members of our care team.
Connie Lam, MS, Director
Ms. Lam is responsible for the overall development and direction of the Initiative for Women with Disabilities. She manages daily operations and works with the participants to ensure that they are directed to the appropriate services and programs. Ms. Lam earned a bachelor of science in business management from Empire State College and a master of science in business management and leadership at CUNY School of Professional Studies.
Litsa DeJulio, LCSW, CFSW, Social Worker (she/her/hers)
Ms. DeJulio is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience in education, mental health, and healthcare. She received her bachelor of science in psychology and master of social work at Fordham University. Through the Center of Financial Social Work, an accredited NASW training program, she became a certified financial social worker (CFSW). She received her seminar training in field instruction (SIFI) certification from Columbia University. She is also a certified yoga teacher. In 2008 Ms. DeJulio began working at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in inpatient adult services, including Rusk Rehabilitation, and transferred to the Initiative for Women with Disabilities in 2015. She co-authored the research study “Nonsexual multiple role relationships: Attitudes and behaviors of social workers,” published in Ethics & Behavior in 2003.
Jane Pfitsch, LMSW, Social Worker
Ms. Pfitsch completed her master’s degree in social work at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service, where she was recognized with the Ann Walsh Award for commitment to promoting social change. At the Initiative for Women with Disabilities, Ms. Pfitsch combines her background as a performing artist with her focus on chronic pain treatment to develop targeted programming and help improve the quality of life for participants. Ms. Pfitsch holds social work licenses in New York and New Jersey, and also works as a psychotherapist.
Dominique Chase, Medical Service Associate
Ms. Chase is a certified medical assistant. She completed the medical assistant certification program at Sanford-Brown Institute in September 2010. Ms. Chase performs both administrative and clinical duties. In addition to greeting our participants, answering the phones, and scheduling appointments, she also works with our clinicians, helping with vital sign assessment, electrocardiogram testing, phlebotomy, and gynecologic care.
Lisa Fung, Medical Office Associate
Ms. Fung greets our patients, answers the phones, and schedules appointments. She strives for excellence in customer service and office skills. She has worked in the medical field for more than 8 years and has been with the Initiative for Women with Disabilities since May 2014.
