Adult Eating Disorders Program
The Eating Disorders Program at NYU Langone Psychiatry Associates, led by Dr. Diane Klein, offers specialized outpatient consultation and treatment for adults with eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, “picky” eating, and excessive exercise. We provide comprehensive evaluations that include assessments of a person’s medical, nutritional, and psychological status.
Our specialists work closely with referring physicians and other clinicians to develop a highly individualized care plan for each patient. Patients can receive ongoing care at our offices, including medication management and psychotherapy, which may involve cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as other methods.
Our approach takes into consideration the tremendous challenge that people with eating disorders may experience in reducing their symptoms, and the ambivalence people often feel towards recovery. We can work closely with patients’ families to offer support at all stages of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Our eating disorders specialists also offer online doctor visits through the NYU Langone Health app. The app is a secure and confidential platform that allows our doctors to provide personalized care to patients who want to work with their care team remotely or at flexible times.
