Patient with Psychiatrist

Our team of nationally renowned psychiatrists offers diagnosis and treatment for complex mood disorders in adults.

Our service, led by Dr. David Ginsberg, includes nationally renowned psychiatrists who specialize in treating complex mood disorders. We offer a full spectrum of therapeutic options, including:

  • psychotherapy
  • psychopharmacology
  • electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
  • vagal nerve stimulation therapy (VNS)
  • repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS)
  • deep brain stimulation (DBS)

An initial consultation with one of our specialists includes an in-depth evaluation of a person’s current and past history, including prior treatment, factors that precipitate and perpetuate symptoms, and other psychological aspects of a person’s condition. This helps us create a treatment plan that typically includes medication and psychotherapy.

In addition, we work with patients and their physicians to provide psychiatric and psychological evaluation, treatment recommendations and the identification of treatment goals, referrals for future treatments when necessary, and referral to clinical research trials, if desired.

We are ready to assist people or their physicians who have concerns about the accuracy of a diagnosis, their level of response to current treatments, side effects of treatment, or inadequate recovery. Our team can make referrals for individual therapy within NYU Langone or closer to your home. We also offer online doctor visits through the NYU Langone Health app. The app is a secure and confidential platform that allows our doctors to provide personalized care to patients who want to work with their care team remotely or at flexible times.
