NYU Langone’s Weight Management Program—Manhattan offers medical and surgical options to people who need assistance and guidance with reaching and maintaining a healthy weight.
Overweight and obesity are serious medical conditions that can impact your health. Excess weight can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, stroke, and certain forms of cancer, among other health problems.
But losing weight and keeping it off can be challenging. We offer a wide range of surgical and nonsurgical options for weight management and achieving long-lasting results that can improve health, wellbeing, and longevity.
Our main location is at 530 First Avenue, Suite 10S, in Manhattan, and we are a part of NYU Langone's Weight Management Program.

We are accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) as a comprehensive center providing high-quality, patient-centered care for adolescents and adults.
Our providers specialize in helping people lose excess body weight through minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic bariatric surgery techniques, which are performed using small incisions for a quicker recovery than conventional open surgery. Our surgical expertise includes these procedures:
Weight loss surgery is performed in Manhattan at Tisch Hospital. Our surgeons work with a team of anesthesiologists, operating room staff, and nurses who are specially trained in caring for people with overweight or morbid obesity. Dedicated nurse practitioners, dietitians, and physician assistants care for our patients throughout every step of the process. No matter which type of weight loss surgery you choose, it is vital to have it performed by a highly experienced team.
We also offer weight loss surgery support groups and can prepare you for some of the changes to your body after surgery.
In addition to our MBSAQIP accreditation, we are also recognized as a center within the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program. Furthermore, our participation with leading insurance providers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oxford, and UnitedHealthcare in their specialty networks demonstrates our commitment to accessibility and excellence in healthcare. We are also proud to be part of the Optum Centers of Excellence network, an endorsement of our consistent delivery of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare services.
Because surgery is not right for everyone, we offer a wide range of nonsurgical medical weight loss options. Nutritional education, lifestyle guidance, exercise plans, and behavioral–mindful eating techniques are among the tools that can help many people reach their weight loss goals without surgery. Our providers pay special attention to medical conditions and medications that can cause weight gain and address these appropriately. We also offer medically supervised diet programs.
