Psychology Services for Children During Rehabilitation

Children who are recovering from illness or injury, or who are dealing with lifelong physical challenges, often need emotional support to help them understand and cope with their situations.

Rusk Rehabilitation specialists provide psychology services and neuropsychological testing for children from infancy to age 21. We care for children who have learning difficulties, cognitive challenges, attention and memory issues, and emotional conditions such as depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress related to their recoveries. Services are provided at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital through the pediatric rehabilitation program, part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone.

We also work with children who have been diagnosed with the following conditions:

  • traumatic brain injury
  • spinal cord injury or disease
  • cancer
  • cerebral palsy
  • neuromuscular or orthopedic conditions
  • spina bifida
  • cerebrovascular accidents
  • amputation
  • other chronic illnesses

Your child needs a physician’s referral for many of our services. Please call 212-598-6248 to make an appointment.
